Luter Family YMCA Expansion

The previous Luter Family YMCA project (designed by Mr. Moberg) included renovation and addition to an existing YMCA housed in an old school building. A new 25 yard/25 meter pool with sunken spa, wellness area, teen room and locker/shower facility were included within the addition. Renovation of the existing gymnasium and administration created a transformed modern facility, doubling the membership instantly.
The increased demand placed on the facilities necessitated the current expansion and presented an opportunity to tie in the look of the building with the residential neighborhood that had since grown up around it. The current project features expansions to the wellness center and child watch areas, a new entrance vestibule and courtyard, a renovated group exercise studio and badly needed additional parking at the rear of the building. A proposed phase 2 expansion has been planned, with expanded locker rooms, exercise spaces, and an outdoor pool with slide and children's play area.
